Jets sign forward Jeff Malott to a two-year contract


The Winnipeg Jets announced today they have agreed to terms with forward Jeff Malott on a two-year, two-way contract with an average annual value in the NHL of $762,500.

Malott, 25, made his NHL debut last season with the Jets on March 20 against the Chicago Blackhawks. He also played 62 games with the Manitoba Moose in 2021-22 and he led the team with 23 goals, while his 41 points were second-most on the team. Malott made his professional debut in 2020-21 playing 34 games for the Moose and he posted 20 points (14G, 6A) and 35 penalty minutes.

Malott, a native of Burlington, Ont., spent two seasons with the AJHL’s Brooks Bandits and recorded 80 points (31G, 49A) and 158 PIMs. He added 16 points (6G, 10A) and 16 PIMs in 33 playoff games for Brooks and he helped the Bandits qualify for the 2016 RBC Cup. Malott then spent four seasons at Cornell University and played 114 games and recorded 53 points (24G, 29A) and 135 PIMs.
