The Jets open their season on home ice at Canada Life Centre on Friday, Oct. 14 when they welcome the New York Rangers to town before heading out on a three-game road trip against Western Conference rivals Dallas Stars, Colorado Avalanche, and Vegas Golden Knights from Oct. 17-20. Winnipeg’s first matchup of the season with Colorado on Wednesday, Oct. 19 marks the first of four meetings against the Stanley Cup champions, including visits to Winnipeg on Nov. 29 and Feb. 24. Following that initial road trip, the Jets then host the Toronto Maple Leafs for the lone time this season on Saturday, Oct. 22 while the Montreal Canadiens also come to Winnipeg early in the season – Thursday, Nov. 3 – for a single visit.
Other highlights of the home schedule for Jets fans include Patrik Laine and the Columbus Blue Jackets coming to Winnipeg on Friday, Dec. 2. Former head coach Paul Maurice, after nine seasons as the Jets bench boss, brings his new team – the President Trophy winning Florida Panthers – to Canada Life Centre on Tuesday, Dec. 6. Also, Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers enter Canada Life Centre a single time this year on Saturday, March 4 for the back half of a home and home set.
The longest homestand of the season is the final one on the schedule, which spans five games from Mar. 31-Apr. 10. Winnipeg doesn’t play from Jan. 31-Feb. 10, as the NHL All-Star Weekend takes place on Feb. 3-4 in Florida, followed by the club’s five-day player break. However, January also features the Jets’ longest road trip of the campaign, as they will play five straight contests away from Manitoba from Jan. 17-24.
Winnipeg faces Canadian teams on 15 occasions – eight games at Canada Life Centre and seven times on the road. Aside from lone visits from the Maple Leafs, Canadiens, and Oilers, the Calgary Flames (Jan. 3 and Apr. 5) and Vancouver Canucks (Dec. 29 and Jan. 8) make two separate trips to Winnipeg, while the Ottawa Senators come to town once (Dec. 20).
The Jets face their Central Division rivals 26 times this season – four games against Chicago, Colorado, Minnesota, Nashville, and St. Louis; and three games apiece against Arizona and Dallas. Winnipeg plays each Pacific Division team three times, while hosting and visiting all 16 teams in the Eastern Conference once throughout the 2022-23 season.
December is the team’s busiest month, with the Jets playing 16 games in total – nine at home and seven on the road. Winnipeg’s first 15 road games of the season are against Western Conference teams. The Jets first visit to the East is not until back-to-back games on Dec. 22-23 at Boston and Washington. Winnipeg plays 13 back-to-backs this season: eleven are consecutive games as the visiting team and two feature a game at Canada Life Centre and a game on the road. Tuesdays are the busiest day for the Jets with the team playing 16 times.
Television broadcast schedules will be released shortly. Once again this season, all 82 games are being broadcast on Global News Radio 680 CJOB (CJOB AM) and will also be simulcast on Power 97.
