Jets hire Jeff Finley as Amateur Scout

The Winnipeg Jets announced today they have hired Jeff Finley as an Amateur Scout replacing Marcel Comeau who is retiring this off-season.

Finley, 52, spent the past seven seasons in the Detroit Red Wings’ amateur scouting department, serving as their chief scout for the past three campaigns. Prior to that, the Edmonton, Alta. native was an assistant coach with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL from 2007 to 2009.

Finley’s NHL playing career spanned from 1987-2004 as he played 708 games for five franchises, recording 83 points (13G, 70A) and 457 penalty minutes. He spent the 1995-96 season with the original Winnipeg Jets and he posted six points (1G, 5A) and 81 PIMs in 65 games.
