Winnipeg Jets and Calgary Flames to face off in the 2019 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic

WINNIPEG, January 1, 2019 – The Winnipeg Jets, in conjunction with the Calgary Flames and the National Hockey League, announced today that they will face off in the 2019 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Sask. on Oct. 26. The NHL Heritage Classic returns to the NHL regular-season schedule in 2019-20 after games in 2016 in Winnipeg, 2014 in Vancouver, 2011 in Calgary, and 2003 in Edmonton. The game will be the second regular-season outdoor contest for both the Flames and Jets.

The Jets hosted the Edmonton Oilers in the 2016 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic on Oct. 23/16 at Investors Group Field in Winnipeg. The Oilers shut out the Jets 3-0 in front of a sold-out crowd of 33,240. Alumni from the two clubs, including Jets 1.0 stars Dale Hawerchuk and Teemu Selanne and Oilers greats Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier, played the day before with Winnipeg prevailing by a 6-5 margin.
