The Winnipeg Jets entertain the Colorado Avalanche tonihgt in Winnipeg’s second of three home games this week…The Jets regained top spot in the Central Division with a 5-1 win against the Dallas Stars on Sunday night…After tonight’s game, the Jets play in Minnesota against the Wild on Thursday before hosting the Detroit Red Wings on Friday.

Halfway Point
The Jets reached the halfway point of their season with a 26-13-2 record, which is a franchise best…Winnipeg’s 54 points matched the 54 points the franchise had in Atlanta during the 2006-07 season and is one better than the Jets had last season.

Outbreak
For the first time in six games, the Jets scored five goals in a game on Sunday…The Jets had scored one goal in each of their previous two home games and were coming off being shut out 4-0 in Pittsburgh on Friday…Winnipeg has scored five goals or more in 14 games this season (14-0-0), which is third in the NHL…Sunday was the fifth time this season the Jets scored five goals in a game with five different goal scorers…Kyle Connor ended a 10-game pointless streak with a third period goal, while Bryan Little tallied his first goal in 12 games and Tyler Myers scored his first goal in 11 games.

Friendly Confines
Winnipeg ended a two-game home losing streak and improved to 14-6-2 at home this season with Sunday’s win…The Jets are tied for the fourth-most wins and the third-most points at home in the NHL…The Jets haven’t lost three consecutive home games since Mar. 6-11/17…The Jets have the best power play at home in the NHL this season at 35.9%…Winnipeg’s 23 power play goals at home this season are first in the NHL…The Jets are 10-for-22 (45.5%) on the power play in their last seven home games and have scored 10 of their last 11 power play goals on home ice…The Jets have a 46-13-4 record at Bell MTS Place during the past two seasons, making it the toughest building in the NHL for opposing teams to play.

Busy Time
Friday began a run of nine games (1-1-0) in 16 days for the Jets leading into the player and all-star break from Jan. 20-27…After the all-star break, the Jets also have a busy schedule with 11 games in 20 days.

Against the Central
Winnipeg is in a stretch of five of eight games against Central Division teams…The Jets are 8-5-0 against Central Division teams this season…Since the start of the 2016-17 season, the Jets are 42-22-4 against Central Division teams, which is first in the NHL…In that same time frame, Blake Wheeler leads all NHLers in scoring against the Central Division with 87 points (26G, 61A) in 68 games, while Mark Scheifele is second with 80 points (32G, 48A) in 60 games.

Seeing Stars
The NHL announced the rosters for the 2019 NHL All-Star Game last week and Jets forwards Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele were selected to the Central Division team…Wheeler, who is making his second consecutive all-star appearance, leads the Jets in points (51) and also leads the Jets and ranks third in the NHL in assists (45)…Scheifele is making his first all-star appearance and is second on the Jets in points (50), goals (22), and assists (28)…He is also in the top 15 in the NHL in goals and points…Forward Patrik Laine is on the Last Man In ballot, as fans vote on the final member of each all-star team…The NHL announced on Saturday that head coach Paul Maurice has been selected as the head coach of the Central Division team, based on the Jets being in first place in the Central Division at the midway point of the season.

Workhorse
Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has started all five games the Jets have played since the Christmas break…He’s also played eight of Winnipeg’s last nine games…His longest streak of consecutive starts this season is six games from Oct. 27-Nov. 14.

Second Power
Winnipeg’s second power play unit has scored six of Winnipeg’s last 11 power play goals…Mathieu Perreault has three of the six goals, while Bryan Little has two…Jack Roslovic assisted on Little’s power play goal on Sunday for his first career power play point.
