The Winnipeg Jets continue a four-game homestand tonight against the New Jersey Devils…The Jets started the homestand with a 5-2 victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Friday night…The Jets continue the homestand Wednesday against the defending Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals.

Friday’s win marked the first time in six games that the Jets scored five goals in a game…In the previous five games, the Jets averaged 2.4 goals per game…The Jets are tied for 18th in the NHL in goals for this season with 46 for an average of 3.1 per game…Last season Winnipeg was second in the NHL with 273 goals for an average of 3.3 goals per game…After leading the NHL in scoring at home last season with 156 goals, the Jets are continuing to light the lamp at Bell MTS Place this season, as they are fifth in the NHL with 32 goals in nine home games.

Friendly Confines
After Friday’s win, the Jets have an NHL-best home record of 15-1-1 since Mar. 2/18 (excluding being considered the home team for the Nov. 2 game in Finland)…Winnipeg’s Oct. 24 loss to Toronto was the Jets first regulation loss at Bell MTS Place since Feb. 27/18 vs. NSH…The Jets haven’t lost back-to-back games at Bell MTS Place since Feb. 20-27/18.

The Jets have scored a power play goal in 11 consecutive games, going 14-for-36 (38.9%), which has set a franchise record for most consecutive games with a power play goal…Winnipeg is 34.8% on the power play this season, which leads the NHL…After leading the NHL in power goals last season with 20, Patrik Laine leads the NHL in power play goals against with seven…Since entering the NHL for the 2016-17 season, Laine’s 36 power play goals are second to only Alexander Ovechkin’s 40 power play goals, but Laine has played 227:47 less on the power play than Ovechkin.

Dominating the East
Tonight is the first of three consecutive games for the Jets against an Eastern Conference team to finish off the homestand…The Jets are 3-3-0 against Eastern Conference teams this season, but went went 19-7-6 against the Eastern Conference last season, including a 10-3-3 record versus the Atlantic Division and 9-4-3 record against the Metropolitan Division.

Before ending the game against Colorado with an empty net goal, Blake Wheeler had an assist on nine consecutive Jets goals, which was one shy of Wayne Gretzky’s NHL record of assisting 10 on consecutive team goals, which he did twice…Wheeler had the primary assist on seven of the nine goals…Since the start of the 2016-17 season, Wheeler is second in the NHL with 134 assists and has set up 17 different teammates, led by Mark Scheifele’s 29 goals.
