The Winnipeg Jets announced today they have acquired defenceman Dylan DeMelo from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. The Jets also announced that they have placed defenceman Luca Sbisa on injured reserve.

DeMelo, 26, has played 49 games for the Senators this season and has 10 assists and 31 penalty minutes. The native of London, Ont. has played 259 career games between Ottawa and the San Jose Sharks and has 64 points (7G, 57A) and 125 PIMs. DeMelo, San Jose’s sixth round pick (179th overall) in the 2011 NHL Draft, also played 10 playoff games for the Sharks in 2017-18 and recorded an assist and four PIMs.
