Taylor Hall’s close range shot at the goal line drew Connor Hellebuyck towards post. Nico Hischier backhanded the rebound into the middle of the net, past Hellebuyck’s right skate.

Gabriel Bourque chipped the puck from the left half wall out to Josh Morrissey who fired a one-timer from the point. Andrew Copp, positioned in the slot, re-directed Morrissey’s shot off the right post and into the net.

On New Jersey’s second attempt, Jesper Boqvist’s snapshot from the low slot rang off the left post before ricocheting past Connor Hellebuyck’s blocker.  Nikita Gusev also scored in the shootout, while both of Winnipeg’s attempts were stopped by Mackenzie Blackwood.
