Jets sign Anthony Bitetto to one-year contract

The Winnipeg Jets announced today they have agreed to terms with defenceman Anthony Bitetto on a one-year, two-way contract with an average annual value in the NHL of $700,000.

Bitetto, 28, played for the Minnesota Wild and Nashville Predators in 2018-19, recording three assists and 12 penalty minutes in 36 games for the two clubs. Prior to his Jan. 25 claim by Minnesota, Bitetto played his whole career for the Nashville organization. He has totaled 19 points (2G, 17A) and 90 PIMs in 132 NHL games. He also played all 14 of his NHL playoff games in the Predators’ run to the Stanley Cup Final in 2016.

Bitetto was originally drafted in the sixth round (168th overall) by the Nashville Predators in the 2010 NHL Draft.
