Brandon Tanev carried the puck over the Avalanche blueline and slid a pass across to a streaking Mathieu Perreault behind the Avalanche defence.  Perreault took the puck from his forehand to his backhand before sliding it between the legs of Philipp Grubauer and in.

While on the power play, Blake Wheeler sent a pass from the right circle to Kyle Connor at the top of the crease.  Connor redirected the puck off the post, but the rebound landed in the crease where Connor knocked it in.

While on the power play, Tyson Barrie snapped a shot from the blueline that was redirected by Gabriel Landeskog at the top of the crease and in.

While shorthanded, Blake Wheeler carried the puck down the right side into the Colorado zone.  Wheeler dropped the puck to Mark Scheifele at the top of the right circle. Scheifele sent a pass back to Wheeler in the slot where Wheeler one-timed a shot blocker-side on Philipp Grubauer and in.

Matt Calvert cleared the puck out of his zone to the neutral zone where Carl Soderberg chipped the puck over the stick of Dmitry Kulikov at the Jets blueline, moved in on Connor Hellebuyck, and lifted a shot over his blocker and in.

Carl Soderberg let a shot go from the left point that was stopped by Connor Hellebuyck.  The rebound was gathered by Mikko Rantanen, whose backhand went wide, but Ryan Graves picked it up behind the Jets net and scored on a wraparound.

Tyler Myers fired a slapshot from the blueline that was blocked, but the rebound came back to him. Myers swatted the puck with his backhand to towards the Avalanche net where Andrew Copp collected it at the right of the crease and slid a backhand off the pad of Philipp Grubauer and in.

Blake Wheeler found Mark Scheifele behind the Avalanche defence at the Colorado blueline.  Scheifele broke in alone and was stopped by Grubauer, but the puck bounced in the air and Scheifele knocked it in.

With the Avalanche net empty, Nathan MacKinnon snapped a shot from the left point that redirected off a body at the top of the crease and beat Connor Hellebuyck.

With the Avalanche net empty, Blake Wheeler fed Jacob Trouba at the right point and Trouba fired a slap shot into the empty net. 
Jets Notes
  • Improved to 27-13-2 overall and 15-6-2 at Bell MTS Place and have won two consecutive at home. 
  • Scored in the first period for the first time in seven games (3 – Dec. 20 at SJS).
  • Were out shot 41-21 tonight and improve to 15-7-2 when being out shot this season.
  • Improved to 14-3-2 this season when leading after the second period.
  • Went 3-for-4 on the power play tonight and are 13-for-26 (50%) in their last eight home games.
  • The Jets finished with 21 shots.  It’s the fewest shots the Jets have this season when scoring four goals.  Previously it was 24.
