While on the power play, Josh Morrissey sent a pass to Nikolaj Ehlers at the left point. Ehlers sent a return feed to Morrissey, who one-timed a slapshot that beat Neuvirth on the glove side.

Brandon Tanev carried the puck over the Flyers blueline and dropped a pass to Josh Morrissey, who fired a slapshot that was stopped by Michal Neuvirth. The rebound bounced to Tanev, who took the puck to his backhand before sliding it behind Neuvirth.

While on the power play, Mark Scheifele won the draw to Patrik Laine, who knocked it back to Dustin Byfuglien at the left point.  Byfuglien moved to the middle of the ice and let a wrist shot go that redirected off the stick of Flyers forward Dale Weiss and beat Anthony Stolarz on the glove side.

While shorthanded, Mark Scheifele’s clearing attempt bounced over the stick of Flyers defensemen Shayne Gostisbehere at the Jets blueline.  Blake Wheeler jumped on the loose puck, broke in alone, and lifted a backhand over Stolarz and in.

Patrik Laine picked off a Flyers clearing attempt in the slot and fed a saucer pass to a streaking Tyler Myers behind the Flyers defence and Myers flipped the puck past Anthony Stolarz and in.

Kyle Connor

  • Scored the first goal of the game to end a nine-game goalless streak – his longest of the season.
  • Took a team-high four shots.

Connor Hellebuyck

  • Allowed just one goal on 35 shots.  It’s the third consecutive game Hellebuyck has allowed just one goal. 
  • Improves to 13-8-1 on the season. 
  • Made 16 saves in the first period, which is the third most he’s made in the first period this season.

Patrik Laine

  • Registered a pair of assists tonight.  It’s Laine’s first multi-assist game of the season.
  • Laine’s assist on Dustin Byfuglien’s second period goal ended a 10-game assist drought.

Adam Lowry

  • Led the Jets with four hits tonight.

Josh Morrissey

  • Scored his third goal of the season on the power play in the first period and added an assist on Brandon Tanev’s second period goal.
  • Has four points in his last three games played (2G, 2A).
  • Morrissey’s goal is the second goal scored by the Jets’ second power play unit this season.
  • It’s the third multi-point game of the season for Morrissey.

Mark Scheifele
