Jets sign JC Lipon to one-year contract

The Winnipeg Jets announced they have agreed to terms with forward JC Lipon on a one-year, two-way contract worth $650,000 in the NHL.

Lipon, 25, tallied 38 points (17G, 21A) and 108 penalty minutes in 68 games in the AHL with the Manitoba Moose last season. He also had a goal and 38 penalty minutes in nine playoff games. Lipon played nine games for the Jets during the 2015-16 season, registering one goal. During the past five seasons, the product of Regina, Sask. has 165 points (56G, 109A) in 331 AHL games with the Moose and St. John’s IceCaps. He has served as an alternate captain for the Moose during the last two seasons.

Lipon was drafted by the Jets in the third round (91st overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft.
